On The Fast Fading Multiple-Antenna Gaussian Broadcast Channel with Confidential Messages and Partial CSIT

چکیده
In wiretap channels the eavesdropper's channel state information (CSI) is commonly assumed to be known at transmitter, fully or partially. However, under perfect secrecy constraint the eavesdropper may not be motivated to feedback any correct CSI. In this paper we consider a more feasible problem for the transmitter to have eavesdropper's CSI. That is, the fast fading multiple-antenna Gaussian broadcast channels (FMGBC-CM) with confidential messages, where both receivers are legitimate users such that they both are willing to feedback accurate CSI to maintain their secure transmission, and not to be eavesdropped by the other. We assume that only the statistics of the channel state information are known by the transmitter. We first show the necessary condition for the FMGBC-CM not to be degraded to the common wiretap channels. Then we derive the achievable rate region for the FMGBC-CM where the channel input covariance matrices and the inflation factor are left unknown and to be solved. After that we provide an analytical solution to the channel input covariance matrices. We also propose an iterative algorithm to solve the channel input covariance matrices and the inflation factor. Due to the complicated rate region formulae in normal SNR, we resort to low SNR analysis to investigate the characteristics of the channel. Finally, numerical examples show that under perfect secrecy constraint both users can achieve positive rates simultaneously, which verifies our derived necessary condition. Numerical results also elucidate the effectiveness of the analytical solution and proposed algorithm of the channel input covariance matrices and the inflation factor under different conditions. 2 In wiretap channels the eavesdropper's channel state information (CSI) is commonly assumed to be known at transmitter, fully or partially. Secrecy Capacity Region of a Multi-Antenna Gaussian Broadcast Channel with Confidential Messages
In wireless data networks, communication is particularly susceptible to eavesdropping due to its broadcast nature. Security and privacy systems have become critical for wireless providers and enterprise networks. This paper considers the problem of secret communication over the Gaussian broadcast channel, where a multi-antenna transmitter sends independent confidential messages to two users wit...
متن کاملMultiuser Channels with Statistical CSI at the Transmitter: Fading Channel Alignments and Stochastic Orders, an Overview
In this overview paper, we introduce an application of stochastic orders in wireless communications. In particular, we show how to use stochastic orders to investigate the ergodic capacity results for fast fading Gaussian memoryless multiuser channels when only the statistics of the channel state information are known at the transmitters (CSIT). In general, the characterization of the capacity ...
متن کاملThe Degrees of Freedom Regions of MIMO Broadcast, Interference, and Cognitive Radio Channels with No CSIT
The degrees of freedom (dof) regions are characterized for the multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) broadcast channel (BC), the interference channel (IC), and the cognitive radio channel (CRC) when there is perfect and no channel state information at the receivers and the transmitter(s) (CSIR and CSIT), respectively. For the K-user MIMO BC, the exact characterization of the dof region is obtain...
متن کاملMulti - User Communication Systems : Capacity , Duality , and Cooperation
In this thesis we investigate the capacity of multi-user wireless communication channels. We first establish a duality relationship between the Gaussian broadcast and multiple-access channels. This relationship allows us to characterize the capacity region of the Gaussian broadcast channel in terms of the dual Gaussian multiple-access channel, and vice versa. This relationship holds for constan...
متن کاملFeedback and Cooperation in Wireless Networks
The demand for wireless data services has been dramatically growing over the last decade. This growth has been accompanied by a significant increase in the number of users sharing the same wireless medium, and as a result, interference management has become a hot topic of research in recent years. In this dissertation, we investigate feedback and transmitter cooperation as two closely related t...
